About
Est. 2017

PULL FOR PRIDE is an international advocacy and education program of Women’s Strength Coalition, dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA2+ athletes.
Of particular focus is the fight for the inclusion of transgender, gender nonconforming, intersex, and nonbinary athletes, in strength sports.
At the forefront of this movement are the program’s co-directors, JayCee Cooper and Breanna Diaz, who work both as direct advocates for inclusion, as well as oversee the yearly event series of the same name, Pull For Pride.

Pull For Pride got started in 2017 with its first series happening in four US cities. In its first year, it raised $30,000 for LGBTQIA-centered nonprofits.
In the following years, Pull For Pride saw rapid growth. In 2018, the events took place in seven US cities. In 2019, Pull For Pride events were hosted in eleven cities, including our first international Pull For Pride in Canada. To date, Pull For Pride events have raised over $280,000 for nonprofits like Trans Lifeline, the Ali Forney Center, Project Fierce Chicago, Equality Florida, and more.
Share The Platform
In 2020, we will be releasing applications for our Share The Platform grants, that specifically aims to assist transgender, gender nonconforming, intersex, and non-binary athletes, with the costs associated with strength sports.
